Departure times are strict. No latecomers. The time indicated on your ticket is the time that boarding begins, and unless stated otherwise, lasts for 1 hour.  So 1 hour after boarding begins is when the boat normally leaves shore– don’t be late!

The cruise lasts 60-90 minutes and the route may vary depending on the water levels and conditions.

An example: if you have a 5 PM cruise, boarding begins at 5 PM, the gangway goes up at 6 PM and the boat leaves shore. The boat returns to shore at approximately 7:30 PM. The next group, if there is one, boards approximately 30 minutes later.

We are licensed and offer full bar service. Food is available; prices and menu depend on the specific event you book.

Guests should be prepared to walk approximately 200 meters North from the ticket shack down an incline or stairs.

The boat is wheelchair accessible and has a handicap accessible washroom on the main deck. Be aware that there is a slope from the parking lot to the dock. And accessing the boat via the gangway involves an incline up and then an incline down.

We do have a wheelchair life that provides access to the lower deck however it is restricted to walkers and non-motorized wheelchairs only.

Strollers are allowed for most events but we cannot be held responsible for them.

While we recognize and respect varying food restrictions and choices, we are a small kitchen and do our best to offer a selection of items to address a few of these. We do have vegetarian, vegan and gluten free (not celiac friendly) options to address some of the more common dietary choices. You will find more information about these selections on our Food & Beverage Page.

Generally no outside food or beverage is permitted, however, if you are celebrating a special occasion and wish to bring in a special cake or similar, we are happy to accommodate you. Just let us know in the notes section of your online ticket purchase or via our contact form so we can make arrangements.

We have a no refunds policy. We run rain or shine…though we do cancel in the case of unsuitable water levels, high winds or lightning. We’ll provide updates on the website and social media if we are sure that we have to cancel an event.

The Ship’s Captain makes all decisions regarding the safe sailing of the Edmonton Riverboat. S/he may decide to remain at port or return early due to weather, or even cancel sailing entirely because of inclement conditions.

Passenger safety comes first. If your ticket includes food and/or entertainment, the Edmonton Riverboat will remain at dock and will enjoy these services in our stationary position. We will refund the cost of your cruise portion of your ticket to a gift certificate in the hopes you will return to enjoy the cruise portion of your experience.

If the cruise is canceled by the Captain, and passengers are not permitted onboard the vessel, the entire ticket price will be refunded, or the cruise re-booked, at the customer’s option.

We are at the mercy of North Saskatchewan water levels–they fluctuate rapidly and are unpredictable. We strive to provide the highest quality sailing experience. Be aware that the sailing route may be adjusted depending on water levels.
